Overview:
Career transitions can have a significant impact on people both personally and professionally. A job is often a source of income, security, future plans, social networks and sense of purpose all rolled into one. Making changes to this area of one’s life can bring about feelings of excitement, anticipation and hopefulness about new opportunities along with some possible stress, anxiety and nervousness about leaving behind the familiar. Because we spend so much of our lives with our jobs and careers, who we are can also get wrapped up tightly with what we do. Career transitions can challenge one’s sense of identity and self-worth or even lead to feelings of self-doubt or loss of identity. These are complex journeys involving various emotional and practical aspects. While they can be challenging, they also offer opportunities for personal and professional growth, self-discovery, and a chance to align one’s career with passions and values.
How I can help:
All coaching is tailored to your unique situation and the process is specific to the needs and challenges that are relevant to your career transition. Once engaged in a coaching relationship, we start with questions that prompt exploration and discovery. This will help us uncover and shine a light on the challenges you may be facing in your transition. We will also spend time together to understand the sources of motivation for you. There are often deeper and more meaningful reasons we want to make changes in our lives but we may not be aware of them and then aren’t able to tap into those deeper motivations’ powerful energy.
We will cover several coaching topics depending on your need; self-discovery, goal setting, action planning, resume and interview preparation, negotiation and offer acceptance, shortening the learning curve, and transition planning.
We will create a complete plan with a defined outcome and achievable action steps to spark momentum. I will provide encouragement and support along the way for any challenges that arise. I offer accountability to ensure you’re taking consistent steps toward your career transition and decision-making support to help you weigh the pros and cons of each choice. I also offer an objective perspective to help you make decisions that align with your goals and values.
